There is zero play side to side. Very solid shifter assembly. If you have red, blue, tan, or brown interior, you can sway out the handles.
***This is for the 90s body style that was introduced at the end of 1989 and ended in 1995, and WILL NOT FIT the 1984-1989 body style.***
